Coverage anywhere, provable safety.

Sentiv keeps mining and industrial operations connected and safe across remote, hazardous and high-value sites, from the pit and plant to the perimeter. Where cellular coverage fails, satellite and low-power networks keep workers reachable and assets reporting, so safety and production are not left to chance. Lone-worker protection, geofencing and connected wearables safeguard people in dangerous environments, while IoT sensing monitors equipment, the environment and the movement of high-value material. Every alert and reading is logged, so health-and-safety compliance is evidenced automatically, and Sentiv delivers the whole chain, from the sensor in the ground to the decision in the control room, as one managed service.

The Challenge

Mining and industrial sites put large workforces into remote, hazardous environments where public cellular coverage is patchy or absent, so workers can be out of contact exactly where the risk is highest. Lone and at-risk workers must be able to raise an alarm and be located anywhere, underground or across a vast open site, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) obligations have to be proven, not just claimed. Assets, vehicles and the environment need continuous monitoring, and unplanned downtime is expensive. Coverage gaps, fragmented systems and manual compliance reporting all threaten both safety and output.

How Sentiv Helps

Satellite and low-power wide-area connectivity extend coverage where cellular cannot reach, so workers stay contactable and assets keep reporting from deep and remote locations. Connected safety wearables and one-touch lone-worker panic put a worker's location in the control room instantly, while geofencing and over-speed alerts manage risk in real time. Push-to-talk over cellular and radio keep teams coordinated across the site, and IoT sensors monitor equipment condition, environmental readings and the movement of high-value material. Because every event is captured and stored, OHS compliance is evidenced automatically, and Sentiv can deliver and manage the full stack or interoperate with the systems already on site.

FAQ

Common Questions

“How do you provide coverage underground or in remote areas?”

Sentiv combines satellite, Wi-Fi, low-power wide-area networks and radio so connectivity follows the operation instead of stopping where cellular ends. Workers can raise alerts and stay in contact, and assets keep reporting, from deep, remote and underground sites that a normal mobile network cannot reach. Where higher bandwidth is needed, bespoke microwave links carry it across difficult terrain. Because the design is multi-protocol, losing one network does not mean losing contact, which is exactly what safety in these environments demands.

“Can safety compliance be evidenced automatically?”

Yes. Lone-worker panic events, check-ins, geofencing alerts and sensor readings are all captured automatically, building an auditable record without manual paperwork. That gives safety managers a timestamped trail showing that procedures were followed and that alerts were actioned, which evidences Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance to regulators and insurers. The same data highlights where risk is concentrated, so it can be reduced before an incident occurs. Compliance becomes an output of the system rather than a separate reporting exercise.
